The Hutovo blato Nature Park is located in southern Herzegovina, in the municipalities of Čapljina and Stolac, on the left bank of the Neretva River, and at a distance of about 20 km from the Adriatic Sea. Hutovo blato is a unique water-rich sub-Mediterranean marsh in Europe, providing home for several hundreds of plant and animal species. In a well-preserved natural environment and authentic beauty of the landscape dominated by water, this area offers unforgettable moments of relaxation and peace to the visitors.

Karstic frame of the Hutovo blato basin and the depression itself form an integral, physical and geographical entity. The surrounding hills are composed of limestone dating back to the Mesozoic era, while the Hutovo blato basin is composed of watertight alluvial soil, covered with layers of dead marsh vegetation. The relief, climate, vegetation, and abundance of water in this area provide favourable habitat conditions for a large number of plant and animal species, in particular – birds…

Guided by the facts and the needs for the development of self-sustaining activity of the park with a dose of caution for the preservation and protection of the natural values ​​of the area, led to tourism, which consists of the following activities: photo safari, fishing, sports training, educational and education paths and catering.
